Caitlin has been with Right at Home Cheshire East for 6 months. Her career goal is to become a paramedic so her current role gives her invaluable experience.  

Below is a day in the life of Caitlin. 

I start my day by helping clients get up and out of bed, showered or washed depending on their preferences. Breakfast is made and medication are then given. i see a variety of clients a day and each one has different preferences and wishes of what they would like to do for the day. Some like to get for a walk and some like to listen to the radio or even read a newspaper.

I make lunch for clients when needed and help with domestic tasks where need.

My tea calls are very similar but some of my clients are not able to feed themselves so as a care giver will spend time feeding them. On a regular basis i come across clients that need double up care if a hoist or stand aid is required so i will work along side another carer to keep the client safe. 

I get along so well with all my clients and do have a laugh, you develop a bond with them which makes your job 100% lovable and easier.
